M.Sc. (Chemistry)

The M.Sc. Chemistry program prepares students for careers as professional chemists and serves as a foundation for careers in other fields such as biology and medicine. The curriculum offers a thorough fundamental knowledge of the major fields of chemistry covering the general areas of inorganic, organic and physical chemistry, plus many more specialized areas. Students gain laboratory experience in inorganic and organic synthesis, analytical methods, physical chemical measurements and biochemical engineering.

Admission Criteria

Those who have completed B.Sc. in relevant subject or equivalent with minimum second division are eligible for admission. Admission is granted on merit determined on the basis of scores earned in admission test and academic record.

Degree Requirements

The degree is awarded after completion of a minimum of 130 credit hours of coursework with minimum CGPA of 2.00. The degree requirements are normally completed over 2 years spreading over 4 semesters.
